In this article I will set out 3 questions, which you should try to answer, and then compare my answer to yours. It is important that you get the right working practises and mindset to help you achieve the most from your retakes, and get you into the university course that you most want. The questions will help point you in the right direction in terms of designing your learning plan and revision schedule to improve your A Level grades.
Should you focus on your strengths or weaknesses with your A Level retakes?
My answer: this is a bit of a fake question, but my answer is both.
You need to build confidence early on in the year, and a lot of confidence will come from doing stuff you are good at. However, you should also be looking to attack your weaknesses.
Say, for example, that for A Level maths, you are not good at integration. Start with something to boost your confidence, and get your mind working, like quadratic equations or inequalities. Then work through your textbooks, notes and revision guides for integration, and make sure you answer questions, even if they are very basic.
Replicate this system for all of your subjects, which will help you get better A Level grades the second time around.
