Asset labels

Asset labels - There are many different types of labels available each with their own purpose and material. I have already been through A4 Sheet Labels now I am going to write a bit about asset labels, these differ from regular ones as they often contain security measures. They are designed to mark fixed and non fixed assets, because of these they are often tamper evident, frangible or permanent. Certain ones also contain a barcode this is designed to show details when scanned with an electronic bar code scanner.

They can be printed on a number of different materials like:

Vinyl
Paper
Polyester
Tamper Evident Material

Tamper evident material are most common on equipment that contains a serial number or as part of a warranty void measure. These are often placed on equipment that can be opened up (tampered with) it will be placed over the join and if the label is removed part of it will stick onto the machine and peal away from the label leaving the words 'VOID' visible, this then in turn voids the warranty

The label will also contain a statement such as 'Property of' and then the company the asset belongs to. The barcode will also contain an electronic signature so that if stolen or lost only the correct owner will be able to be verified as the user and the device will not get passed to the wrong hands.
This the end of - Asset labels
